Client 1: First Contact From The Past

Just arrived back at the apartment after meeting with Natalya's contact who has agreed to let me include him here, although he agrees on the notion of 'who is going to read this anyway?' He introduced himself as Mr. Kozel after I asked if I could sit with him, (God bless that it was the lunch hour and there were people occupying seats) I started up what had to be one of the most awkward conversations I had ever being a participant in. It went somewhat along the lines of this:

"Hello, I'm Selma."

"Hello, Mr Kozel."

"I've been meaning to talk to you concerning the murder of Natalya Smirnov."

"I'm sorry?"

"Yeah, I just need some help with finding her murderer."

"What?"

"I'm looking for her murderer."

"Who are you?"

"Selma..."

"How old are you?"

"Why on Earth did I think this was a good idea?" *This was to myself*

"What are you talking about?"

"Alright, prepare yourself. Natalya's ghost has asked me to find her killer. She said that you might be able to help me...and therefore, her."

*A rather pregnant pause here*

"Prove it."

"You're buying this?"

I got her to tell him that we met in Florence many years ago after we were sent to tail a tradesman on suspicion of trafficking illegal weapons to South America.

Yes, that sounds about right. So anyway, Mr. Kozel was this close to spurting his coffee back at me but luckily his shock wore off and he was a little more attentive. I told him about Natalya coming to me after learning my identity as a 'insert ghost seer profession title of choice here' and she had asked me to try and trace back her murderer, and more importantly, her reason of death. Mr. Kozel seemed a little reluctant to share at this point which simply suggested that they were hiding something from me. I am really hoping this something isn't going to get me killed. I didn't question it and I'm not planning to. If I can get this over and done with minus any form of pain or flesh wounds, I will be a rather satisfied girl.

Great, Natalya's giving me looks after she just read the above. I've told her that whatever it is, she should just tell me. I mean, who am I going to tell? I can't even speak Russian.

So Mr. Kozel agreed to drop in tomorrow during the day as he is a part-timer. Isn't that strangely convenient? Well, will drop out and get some food because after clearing everything out, the kitchen is completely empty.
